The legal requirement to train employees should extend beyond awareness and understanding of health and safety issues. In addition there is a clear need for key personnel to have the skills and knowledge to manage the health and safety function.
Who should attend?
The course is designed for those working in any business, regardless of the product or service range. It is essential for all those who have an employment role that includes a responsibility for the management of health and safety issues. On completion of this course delegates will have the appropriate technical knowledge to train candidates for the Foundation Health and Safety Certificate. We also offer the Professional Trainers certificate, which is one of the recommended qualifications to allow delegates to train. An intermediate knowledge of health and safety is recommended.
Course objectives
Successful candidates will be able to manage health and safety in most businesses by:
Developing auditing and monitoring programmes
Designing safe practices and procedures
Liaising with enforcement officers
Interpreting legal requirements
Staff training
Establishing risk assessment projects
Course book and a comprehensive delegate pack will be provided.
Duration
The course is held over 6 days. Delegates are required to pass a two-hour exam and produce an assignment (Professional report) one month after the exam.
Qualification
All successful candidates will receive the Advanced Certificate in Health and Safety in the Workplace.
